Three get death penalty in 2011 murder case of an engineer

A local court today sentenced three persons to death in connection with a 2011 murder case of an irrigation engineer.
The Fourth Additional District Judge (ADJ) G Srinivas awarded death penalty to three persons -- Y Siva Krishna, A Murali Krishna and P A Nageswara Rao.
The court found them guilty on charges of murder, theft and causing disappearance of evidence of offence under relevant sections of IPC, in connection with the case of murder for gain of irrigation engineer P Naik in Nalgonda district in 2011.
The trio were charged with murder and taking away property of the engineer, police said.
The three are facing as many as 16 cases against them for robberies and murders in districts of Prakasam, Guntur, Kurnool, Nalgonda and under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits, Guntur Urban District Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jatty told PTI.
Trials against them were on in different courts, he said, adding that they were earlier convicted for 10 years in a case.
