With the arrest of three persons, the police today has claimed to solve the case of kidnap and murder of an advocate over a Rs 20-crore property dispute.
Kisanlal Rai, Vijay Chouksey and Rupesh Sharma were arrested last night and charged with kidnapping as well as murdering advocate Devendra Khandelwal (57), District Superintendent of Police (East) O P Tripathi said.
Advocate Devendra Khandelwal was allegedly kidnapped close to district court premises on December 23 and taken away in a car. After he was allegedly murdered, his body was taken to nearby Khargone district where it was set on fire near a lake at a deserted place, Tripathi said.
The SP said that Khandelwal had a dispute with some people over the ownership of an acre of land at Bhawarkuan here, due to which he was killed.
Rupesh Sharma was arrested from Kota in Rajasthan, he said, adding that the police is hunting for two other accused namely Mahendra and Prabhakar.
Further investigations are on, he said.
