Three held for chain snatching, thefts in Telangana

Police have today claimed to solve 33 cases of chain-snatching and theft with the arrest of three persons.
Moreover, 50 tolas of gold worth Rs 14 lakh and 11 motorcycles worth Rs 5 lakh were recovered from their possession, Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis told reporters here.
The accused Nedunuri Shravan Kumar (19) of Irukulla village, Togari Ramu alias Nani (20) of Hamali wada, Mancherial in Adilabad district and Bonkuri Sunil Raj alias Cherri (19) of Goureddypet village in Peddapalli mandal became friends, he said.
They had girl friends and used to spend money on them. To meet their needs, the trio decided to snatch chains and steal motorcycles, the officer said.
They are involved in 22 offences of chain snatching in Karimnagar town, Sultanabad in Karimnagar district and Mancherial in Adilabad district and had stolen 11 motor cycles, he added.
The trio will be produced before a local court tomorrow and investigation are underway, the SP said.
