Three men were Thursday arrested for allegedly possessing mephedrone drug, also known as MD or meow-meow, worth over Rs 61 lakh in suburban Khar, a senior police official said.
Police had received a tip-off that three persons were coming to Khar area to sell drugs.
Swinging into action, a team of police led by inspector Daya Nayak laid a trap near the National College bus stop in suburban Khar and nabbed the trio travelling in an auto, the official said.
They were found possessing 1.526 kg of MD drugs, worth Rs 61.04 lakh, the official added.
The accused trio, identified as Sanjay Pandey (42), Sachin Mudiyar(42) and Roshan Kumar Pandey (32), was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During their interrogation, it came to light that Sanjay Pandey was out on bail in a similar case registered against him in Delhi in 2012, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
