Three held for raping minor girl

Police today arrested three persons for allegedly raping a minor girl earlier this week in Banka district and posting a video of the act in social media.
The incident happened in Jantua village under Suiya police station of Banka on October 4, Superintendent of Police Chandan Kushwaha said in a statement.
The girl had gone to a field for grazing goats when three persons of the village allegedly raped her.
They made a film of the act and threatened the victim that the video would be uploaded in social media if she tells anybody about the incident. The girl remained silent due to the threat, the statement said.

However, the girl came to know yesterday that the video went viral on social media and she narrated the entire episode to her mother.
Her mother then lodged a complaint with the women's police station and the three accused were arrested today, the SP said.
The mobile phone in which the video was made has also been seized and sent for examination, the statement said.
