Three persons have been arrested for allegedly robbing a city-based shopkeeper of 8 kg silver, police said today.
Two bike-borne persons, identified as Bintu alias Alla Mehar, resident of Aligarh, and Tinku alias Vijai, resident of Bulandshahr, had looted 8 kg of silver from Pramod Baghel on NH-2 under Farah police station on May 8, police said.
Police nabbed the two miscreants along with a shopkeeper, who had hatched the plan of looting Baghel and who is also his business partner, they said.
"Acting on a tip-off, a police party, led by In-charge of SWAT team, surveillance team and SHO, Farah police station, nabbed all the three when they were going to sell the silver," SSP Rakesh Singh said.
"Both the accused along with the shopkeeper Salim alias Balia, a resident of Hathras, have been arrested," he said.
The SSP said that police has recovered the 8 kg silver, two country-made pistols of .315-bore and four live cartridges from their possession.
