Cracking a four-year old murder case, police here have arrested three persons for allegedly killing a 50-year-old pawn broker and decamping with Rs 1.30 crore worth jewels.
The three men, one from Tamil Nadu and two from Puducherry, were arrested yesterday after a prolonged surveillance to unearth their role in the April 5, 2014 murder of Radhe Shyam Dhoot, a top police official said.
During the surveillance, police found that there was a drastic change in the life style of the three persons, who were drivers. They were found indulging in lavish spending besides purchasing properties and vehicles, DIG Rajiv Ranjan told reporters here today.
A special team formed to investigate the case arrested them following their interrogation.
Investigations revealed that the three hacked to death the pawn broker and decamped with 7.5 kg of gold jewellery worth about Rs 1.30 crore from his shop.
Later they had disposed of the booty and using the money bought movable and immovable properties, police said.

All the properties would be seized, Ranjan added.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy lauded the police team for successfully cracking the case.
