Three houses gutted in fire, no loss of life

Three houses were gutted in a fire in a village near here today.
Officials of Fire and Rescue department said the fire that broke out suddenly in a thatched house in the afternoon at Muttakudi village spread to nearby huts.
However, there was no loss of life, they said.
Fire brigade personnel from Thiruvidaimaruthur, on getting information, rushed to the village and extinguished the blaze.
The reason for the blaze and actual loss is yet to be ascertained, they said.
