Three including Talathi arrested for graft

Three persons including a village Talathi were arrested by the Thane unit of the ACB for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a villager.
DSP ACB- Thane Division- Datta Karale told PTI that the trio Yuvraj Padwal (Talathi- Shahad), Kalyan Circle Officer Ujjwal Deshmukh and one Sharad Padwal were arrested last evening and charged under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.
According to Additonal SP ACB-Thane Division Shrinivas Ghadge, the villager wanted certain notings to be done on the 7/12 extract with regard to concessions in land holdings on the plot of his father in Kamba village, for which the trio made the bribe demand.
Aggrieved, the complainant approached the ACB and subsequently the officials laid a trap and caught the trio accepting the money in the office of the SDO at Khadakpada in Kalyan, he said.
