Three kidnappers held

Three alleged kidnappers, who had abducted a nine-year-old boy and demanded Rs 80 lakh for his release, have been arrested.
M Rafiq (30), Rahish (27) and Naseem (22) were arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police after it received a tip off that the trio, wanted in a kidnapping case would assemble near Surghat in Wazirabad, police said today.
The boy had gone for a haircut at around 12:45 pm in Bhajanpura area on August 8 but did not return back.
Later his father received a call on his mobile phone from kidnappers who demanded Rs 80 lakh for the safe release of the child, they said.
"However, the kidnappers soon released the boy due to police pressure, they were on the run since then," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
During interrogation, the trio claimed that Rafiq knew the father of the kidnapped child and was aware that he is an affluent person and can pay large amount in ransom for his only child, according to police.

He discussed his plan with his friend Rahish, who later discussed it with his brother Naseem and Bunty.
All the four persons hatched a conspiracy to kidnap the child for ransom. They first purchased SIM cards on fictitious identity, said Yadav.
Naseem then arranged a safe house in village Sanoth, Holambi Kalan, Delhi to keep the kidnapped boy.
On August 8, the boy was kidnapped by Rafiq and Rahish. Bunty was waiting near Noor Elahi petrol pump on a scooty.
All the three took the kidnapped boy to the safe house, where they held him captive and demanded ransom. Due to intense police pressure kidnappers released the boy and fled away, police said.
