Three of family commit suicide in Kerala

A couple and their 20-year-old daughter allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train near a railway station here as they were depressed after their elder daughter deserted them, police said today.
The couple's elder daughter, whose marriage had been fixed for October 30, had been missing from the house since Saturday as she was unhappy with their marriage proposal.
The family took the extreme step yesterday after she picked up a quarrel with them and left home, police said.
