Three people killed in a road mishap at Pavagadh
Press Trust of India Vadodara Atleast three people died and nine others were injured today, after a jeep in which they were travelling, plunged into a gorge at Pavagadh, a religious place which is about 40 km away from Vadodara city.
The deceased were identified as jeep driver Kalyansinh Solanki, Ramesh Ratoda and Chandrashekhar Vaspati, a resident of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.
Police investigation revealed that around 12 passengers hired Solanki's jeep to reach the foothill, after paying visit to the Goddess Kali temple on top of Pavagadh hill.
According to the Halol police in Panchmahal district, the incident took place when the jeep was on its way to the foothills of Pavagadh, today afternoon.
"When the jeep reached near Machi village, the driver lost control of the vehicle which fell into the gorge, killing three people. We have admitted nine injured passengers to Halol-based hospitals for treatment," Halol police sub-inspector H B Chauhan said.
