Akansha Singh (26) and her fiancee Rahul Singh (28) were were travelling on a bike when two robbers on two-wheeler tried to stop them, and asked them to surrender all their valuables, police said.
The robbers shot at them after the victims resisted their attempt, with one bullet piercing through Rahul's shoulder and the other bullet hitting Akansha in her abdomen, they said.
Later, the passers-by took the victims to the nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 25-year-old youth was travelling in an autorickshaw last night when two robbers on bike snatched chain from a female passenger in the vehicle.
Dinesh Yadav SP (city) said both the incidents took place on the same spot.
Cases have been registered and police is investigating the matter, Yadav said.
