Three pilgrims die as snake bites them in Rajsathan

Three pilgrims, including a couple, died on Wednesday after a snake bit them in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, police said.

Three pilgrims on way to Ram Devra in Jaisalmer from Sriganganagar were attacked by a snake when they had stopped at a temple in Motigarh for rest Tuesday night, Superintendent of Police, Bikaner, Pradeep Mohan Sharma said.

They were taken to a hospital after their condition deteriorated Wednesday morning where they died, he said.

They were identified as Rajuram, 30, Chunnilal, 52, and his wife Radhi Devi, 50, police said.

The bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem.

A case under section 174 of the Code Of Criminal Procedure was registered, police said.
