Additional Superintendent of Police (ACB) Thane Unit Srinivas Ghadge told PTI that that offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered at the local police station.
He said that the complainant had applied for the post of an assistant teacher.
However, to appoint him, the accused people demanded Rs 30,000, the ACB official said.
After due deliberations, it was decided that a sum of Rs 25,000 would be paid to the school staff including the head master.

The ACB officer said that Headmaster Momin Juber Usman and head clerk Momin Anjum Ahmed Yakub Khaver made the demand for the bribe, while Usman and junior clerk Shaikh Nadeem Ahemed Mustaq Ahmed accepted the bribe of Rs 10,000 today.
Further investigations into the case are being carried out by officials of the Thane unit of the ACB he said.
Those arrested are from the Samadia High School and Junior College at Bhiwandi.
