"Khushbu Kumari (15), Kajal Kumari (13) and Priti Kumari (12) drowned after they jumped into the river to rescue their two young brothers who cried for help after falling into deep water while taking bath at Farchhivan village," Mansurchak Circle Officer (CO) Arun Kumar and Bachhwara police station's Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Kumar said.
The bodies have been fished out and sent for post-mortem, he said.
The two boys were rescued by divers, officials said.
