The three suspended officers are Jaskirat Singh Chahal, SP (Operations) in Gurdaspur, Paramjit Singh Grewal SP (Detective) in Batala and Rachpal Singh Ghuman, SP (Headquarters) in Tarn Taran, an official spokesperson said.
The officers were placed under suspension on the recommendation by IGP (Border), he said here, adding that they have been directed to report to state police headquarters.
A departmental action has been initiated against these three officers, he added.
There were repeated complaints against Grewal that he often consumed liquor and creates nuisance in the police stations, he said, noting that the officer's behaviour was bringing a bad name to the department.
Chahal and Ghuman, the other two officers, were suspended after being found non-serious towards their duties, the spokesperson said.
