Three touts apprehended at New Delhi station

Stepping up the drive to check activity of unauthorized ticketing agencies here, the vigilance team of Northern Railway along with RPF today apprehended three touts today.
While two touts were held at near current reservation counter (Paharganj side) another at Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi station, said a senior Northern Railway official.
A case under Section 144 of the Railways Act 1989 filed against the apprehended persons handed over to GRP.
During a preventive check, the vigilance team raided the premises of an unauthorized ticketing agency. During the check, four E-tickets worth Rs 1378 were confiscated and the owner Pawan Kumar arrested case under Section 143 of the Railways Act 1989 and a case of crime registered against him.
Northern Railway asked the general public to refrain from purchase of rail tickets from unauthorised agencies and touts.
Unauthorized buying and selling of reserved tickets is an offence under Section 143 of the Railways Act. Passengers who buy tickets from unauthorized travel agents may lose both their tickets and the reserved accommodation, if such tickets are confiscated during raids.
