Three wildlife smugglers held; 108 turtles recovered: Police

Three wildlife smugglers were arrested and 108 live turtles recovered from them, the police claimed today.
The turtles were being carried in three jute bags recovered from the three men against whom a case has been registered at the Bisauli police station, officials said.
"Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a vehicle in which the three smugglers were moving late last night. They were stopped, the vehicle searched and 108 live turtles were recovered. The three persons arrested have been identified as Sethi, Sanjeev and Oma," Superintendent of Police, (Rural), Surendra Pratap Singh said.
A case has been registered and they have been sent to jail, Singh added.
