According to DYSP Dahanu Division, Abhijit Shivtare, offences were registered last night under various sections of the IPC and SC/ST Act against the trio, who are at large.
The incident took place on March 15 when the three accused Vaijayanti Mali, Kalpana Bhojane and Kalpana's sister- in-law reached the girl's house and abused the victim and her mother on caste lines.
According to the girl's suicide note, she was beaten up after being accused of having an affair with the husband of one of three women.
Since the victim belonged to Hindu Mahar family, the police have slapped charges under the SC/ST Act besides under sections 306, 504, and 506 of the IPC and also sections 3 (1)(10) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989, and Protection of Civil Rights (PCR) Act 1955, police said.
