Three women Naxals held in Chhattisgarh

Three women Naxals were today arrested following a gun battle with policemen in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.
The cadres were apprehended in the forest near Dharma village under Bhairamgarh police station, a local police official told PTI.
On Monday night, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and local police had launched a search operation in Bhairamgarh area, around 450 kms from here, in view of the ongoingPeoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA- militarywing of the Maoists)week being observed by ultras from December 2 to 8.
When the patrolling team was on the way back today, rebels opened indiscriminate firing on them in the forest on the bank of Indravati river near Dharma, following which jawans also retaliated, he said.
After a brief exchange of fire Naxal fled to the forests. Meanwhile, three women ultras identified as Daso Oyam (28), Sunita Oyam (24) and Kumari Oyam (21), all natives of Dharma, were apprehended from the spot, the official said.
Besides, a muzzle loading gun, one tiffin bomb, detonator, couple of fire crackers and Maoist literature were also recovered from their possession, he said.
