Three workshops of HRTC to shut down soon: Bali

Himachal Pradesh government today said three workshops run by Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation for assembling new buses, would be shut down soon.
State transport minister G S Bali said this while replying to a question from BJP member Vikram Singh Jaryal and Congress member Ajay Mahajan during Question Hour in the Assembly.
"The buses assembled in the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) workshops were of poor quality and had leaking roofs. We will soon shut down all three workshops in the state," he said.
HRTC has its workshops for assembling buses at Jasur, Parwanoo and Mandi.
HRTC had recently got 29 new buses, including eight Volvo, 16 AC deluxe and five ordinary buses on wet lease, which have been deployed on 16 routes, he said.
There was complete transparency in procurement of the vehicles on wet lease and global tenders were floated in consultation with All India Transport Association, Bali said.
