Three-year-old raped, murdered in Kanpur

The blood-soaked body of a three-year-old girl was found today in the fields of a rural area Bidhanu here with police suspecting it to be a case of rape and murder.
The victim's clothes were torn and there was bleeding in her private parts. Prime facie it appears to be a case of rape and murder but only a post-mortem examination can confirm it, SP Kanpur (Rural) Surendra Tiwari said.
Police have taken two youths of the village in custody and are interrogating them, Tiwari said, adding no arrest has been made so far.
The SP said the victim was daughter of a factory-worker Dinesh Kumar, resident of Taksimpur village in Bidhanu. The girl's family was sleeping outside their home last night.

When they woke up in the morning they found their daughter missing, the SP said, adding the villagers found the body from a corn field besides their home.
