Three youths drown in river Brahmani

Three youths, including one who was on a visit here from Mumbai drowned while taking bath in river Brahmani on the outskirts of Odisha's Steel City of Rourkela today, police said.
One of the youths slipped into deep water while taking bath at Tarkera Ghat of the river and then the other two were also dragged by strong current while trying to rescue the former, they said.
After getting information, police personnel and fire brigade rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies.
"We were informed about the incident by the locals. By the time fire brigade reached the site everything was over," said DSP, Panposh area, Tushar Jena.
The deceased were identified as P Shyam Babu, P Sarada Babu (both brothers) and Pankaj Tambe of Wadala in Mumbai. He was on a visit to Rourkela to attend the marriage of the elder brother of the Shyam and Sarada.
