Thundershower in eastern UP, Jhansi hottest at 42.5 deg C

Parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh experienced light rain or thundershower in the last 24 hours that brought down the temperature.
The Met department has forecast rain or thundershower at isolated places in the next 24 hours.
The highest temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jhansi.
According to MET office, the temperature fell appreciably in Gorakhpur division, rose in Jhansi and Agra divisions and changed a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
The temperature was markedly below normal in Kanpur, Faizabad, Lucknow, Agra divisions and below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bareilly, Moradabad, Jhansi and Meerut divisions.
