Tibetan Prime Minister in exile Lobsang Sangay has declared a loan scheme of Rs 100 million for Tibetan sweater sellers living in India, a majority of which is being funded by the USAID.
While attending the 'First Special Conference of All India Tibetan Refugee Trader's Association' held in Ludhiana on Sunday, Lobsang had declared the scheme which is aimed at providing relief to the seasonal Tibetan hosiery and sweater traders.
"The Rs 100 million loan scheme would be disbursed to 100 sweater associations for a fixed period of six-months with a relatively low interest rate of 3 per cent. Failure to return the loan would lead to incurring a much higher interest rate," the press secretary of the Central Tibetan Administration said.
