Sharma, who initiated the discussion on "India's foreign policy and engagement with strategic partners" was interrupted a few minutes when members demanded more time to speak.
"It is unfair to the speaker," Sharma said, adding that his thought process gets disturbed when interrupted frequently.
He had to pause when members decided to carry on the debate for more time for everyone to get a chance to speak.
Sharma's remarks, however, evoked an angry response from Kurien who strongly objected to the remarks made on the chair.

At this, an agitated Sharma retorted, "Don't rebuke me like this. Let us talk with respect. I am already sitting."
Kurien them explained that he had asked Sharma to stop as his party, the Congress, had a total of 35 minutes left and Sharma had already taken 30 minutes.
The matter ended with the House agreeing to grant more time to the debate.
