The single-vehicle crash occurred on Friday morning on Highway 70, which has seen 12 deaths since November 2014, in Hot Springs, just before 2 am, reported Variety.
Both Carney and the driver, 37-year-old Ezekiel Blanton, were pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle slammed into a tree after failing to navigate a curve.
Carney, the former lead singer of the band The Prom Kings, was featured in the 2006 MTV reality show "twentyfourseven" alongside his younger brother when they moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.
