The carcass of the tiger, with injury marks near its tail, was recovered from near a drain this morning, divisional forest officer V K Singh said.
While experts suspect the death was caused due to toxins in the water, Singh said that the real cause would be ascertained only after the post mortem is conducted.
This is the second such incident reported within a span of 24 hours from Haripur forest range. Yesterday, the carcass of a tiger was recovered from a drain near Dhanaraghat area in the range.
