trap at Kishorimohanpur village under Kultali police station of South 24 Parganas district tonight, forest department officials said.
Two traps had been set up by the department in the village after pug marks were spotted in the area yesterday.
The officials said the tigress was caught in one of the traps at around 10 PM.
The animal would be medically checked tomorrow and then released in the forest.
