Tigress dies in Nandankanan Zoo

A tigress died at the Nandankanan Zoo here today due to old age complications, officials said.
The deceased tigress identified as Rebati was 18 year old. She was unwell for the last two months due to old age related ailments, said Zoo deputy director Jayant Das adding that the animal was suffering from loss of appetite and digestive disorders.
With the death of Rebati, the number of tigers in the Nandankanan Zoo has come down to 24 including 16 normal coloured and eight white tigers. Out of the 24 tigers, 12 are tigress.
