Time bomb fitted to car explodes

A time bomb fitted to the chassis of a car of an advocate today exploded, damaging the vehicle at Nelpettai, police said.
No one was injured in the blast, they said, adding that the motive for placing the bomb was not known, but criminal cases, including one filed under the Arms act, were pending against the advocate Akbar Ali.
The bomb, which was made using a bottle, kerosene, explosive chemicals, battery and time device, had exploded at around 11am, police said.
