The government today told the Lok Sabha that AERA has not fixed a "definite timeline" for determining aeronautical tariff with respect to Delhi international airport for the five-year period from April 1, 2014.
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) decides the tariff and other charges for the aeronautical services rendered at major airports, including that of Delhi and Mumbai.
AERA has issued a consultation paper for determination of aeronautical tariffs in respect of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi, for the second control period -- April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019.
"The current document issued by AERA is only a consultation paper and the final outcome as regards aeronautical tariff for IGIA, Delhi, will be known only after completion of tariff consultation process by AERA... No definite timeline as such has been fixed in this regard," Minsiter of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said.
He gave this information in a written reply to the House.
At present, development fee is levied at two airports -- IGIA and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), Mumbai.
