At about 2 PM today, a petrol tanker was reported to be on fire just about 300 m from the gate of the station. There was a car parked alongside it which also caught fire, defence officials said.
Within minutes, the Air Force rushed two of its fire tenders and another two crash fire tenders.
The blaze was finally put off after about three hours of action, but the tanker and the car were gutted, they said.
