Tin, nickel strengthen on rising demand

Tin and nickel prices strengthened further at the non-ferrous metals market here today due to sustained stockists buying as well as strong offtake from alloy industries.
Tin firmed up by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,160 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,150 and Nickel rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 740 from Rs 735 yesterday.
However, brass sheet cuttings moved down by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 274 as against to Rs 280 previously.
Copper sheet cuttings and brass utensils scrap softened by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 362 and Rs 271 as compared to Rs 364 and Rs 273 yesterday.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar inched down by a Re per kg each to Rs 377, Rs 371 and Rs 405 respectively.
