Tin slips on sluggish demand

Tin prices slipped at the non-ferrous metals market here Monday on stockists' selling amid sluggish demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper and brass sheet cuttings eased due to subdued demand from industrial users.

While, copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap, zinc and lead gained further due to good demand from consuming industries.

Tin prices slid by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,425 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,430.

Copper scrap heavy and brass sheet cuttings moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 455 and Rs 354 as against Rs 458 and Rs 357, respectively, previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils and copper billets softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 463, Rs 427 and Rs 491, respectively.

However, zinc prices rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 220 as compared to Rs 217.

Copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap and lead inched up per kg each to Rs 448, Rs 344 and Rs 162, respectively.
