The Industrial metal copper edged lower in early trade at the LME after surprisingly weak Chinese import data at the weekend fuelled worries that economic growth in the world's top consumer of metals may be more fragile than anticipated.
Tin dropped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,435 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,455 and Nickle fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,075 from Rs 1,080.
On the other hand, Copper utensils, Copper sheets cuttings, Brass utensils scrap and Brass sheets cuttings rose by Rs 1 per kg each to Rs 396, Rs 412, Rs 313 and Rs 322 as against Rs 395, Rs 411, Rs 312 and Rs 321 respectively.
