Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari interacted with different communities and traders to urge them to promote cashless transactions.
Addressing a gathering of Sikh youths at the party office, Tiwari lauded the community's "dynamism" and expected it to adopt the cashless system.
"I am of the view that the Sikh community which laid the foundation of the Indian agriculture, military power and trade sector will first of all adopt the cashless system for developing new economic system in the country," he said.
At a function organised at the office of Delhi Hindustani Mercantile Association at Chandni Chowk, Tiwari talked of mobile banking and cashless transactions and expressed hope that they will cooperate in creating a "clean" economy.
"I believe that the effort being made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a new and clean economic system will be made successful first of all by the traders of the country," he said.
Prime Minister Modi and BJP are dedicated to make 2017, a "year of doom" for the "corrupt" and take up development of the poor and the backward classes, he said addressing a gathering of OBC Morcha leaders and workers.
