Tiwary hits ton as Jharkhand make 229/2 on day one

Saurabh Tiwary hit a century besides sharing an unbeaten 159 run stand with Shiv Gautam to help Jharkhand score 229 for two on day one of the Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match here today.
At stumps, Gautam and Tiwary were in the middle on 72 and 100 respectively.
Amogh Desai drew first blood when he had Virat Singh (8) caught by Darshan Misal. Misal then dismissed Ishan Kishan (45) to make it 70 for two in 25.1 overs.
Thereafter Gautam and Saurabh Tiwary got their act together and took the score to 94 for two at lunch.
Goa, who lost to Assam by 10 wickets, were once again found at the receiving end after the break as the two hit the home bowlers all around the ground to remain not out at the end of the day.
Tiwary scored his century with a six. His 168-ball ton came with the help of nine fours and three sixes.
