West Bengal BJP today accused the TMC government of trying to disturb the communal fabric in the state for the vote bank politics and said it will write to the Centre about various incidents which indicate that the ruling party was flaring up communal passions.
"TMC for the last few years is trying to disturb the communal harmony of the state. West Bengal has a history of various communities and religion living in peace and harmony. But TMC is trying to disturb this communal fabric for the sake of vote bank politics. We condemn this heinous politics by TMC," West Bengal BJP President Rahul Sinha told reporters in West Midnapore.
"We have decided to write to the Centre about various incidents which indicate that TMC was trying to flare up communal passions for the sake of vote bank politics," he added.
Referring to Maoists, the BJP leader alleged ultras were resurfacing in Junglemahal area of the state as the promises made to them by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have not been been kept.
"The CPI-M created the Maoists and the TMC nurtured them. Banerjee had promised many things to them but failed to keep them. So the Maoists have resurfaced in Junglemehal," he said.
Banerjee will pay a two-day visit to Junglemahal, the tribal belt in West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts, from tomorrow.
He alleged that Birbhum district police administration for the last three years was not giving permission to the residents of a Birbhum village to hold Durga Puja.
"How can the district police administration not give permission to villagers for holding of Durga Puja? This is nothing but appeasement politics," he added.
