"After the six phases of polls, we can say that the formation of the next cabinet under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee is only a matter of time. The huge turnout in the polls is only the proof of people's support towards Mamata Banerjee and development," TMC secretary-general Partha Chatterjee said.
CPI(M) state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra also exuded confidence that "people's alliance" will form the next government.
Senior state Congress leader and MP Pradip Bhattacharya too echoed Mishra's view.
"We thank the Election commission for conducting the poll in a free and fair manner. In a few places TMC has been successful in disturbing the poll process. The alliance will come to power in West Bengal and people have voted in favour of it," Bhattacharya told PTI.
"The BJP will play a decisive role after the results are announced and in case of a hung Assembly, BJP will side neither with the alliance nor with TMC," Banerjee said.
