Taking a jibe at TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, who launched a party helpline number and website on Monday to address people's grievances, the BJP said it shows that her links with the masses are "severed".
The BJP also claimed that the ruling party was copying its outreach initiative taken long back and there was nothing new in it.
In a bid to reach out to the public after the poor show in the Lok Sabha polls, the West Bengal chief minister launched the Trinamool Congress' helpline number and website www.didikebolo.com at Nazrul Manch here.
Mukul Roy, who was once Banerjee's confidant before falling out with her and joining the saffron party in 2017, said, "The launch of the helpline and the website clearly shows that Mamata Banerjee so far has not developed any public relations and has severed links with the masses."
Another BJP MP Locket Chatterjee said, "It (TMC's outreach programme) is a copy paste of the BJP's initiative taken long back and we have been doing this for long. This is not new for us."
