TMC scuttling industrial growth in Bengal: CPI(M)
Press Trust of India Kolkata Accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of "ruining" the state, the CPI(M) leadership today said the incumbent government has scuttled the industrial growth of the state.
"What is the industrial growth of the state in last four and half years ? The growth is zero. They have ruined whatever we had created during our tenure. Only the industry of goondaism is flourishing in Bengal," CPI(M) Central Committee member Shyamal Chakraborty said.
CPI(M)'s comment comes as a rebuttal of Banerjee's claim earlier in the day that the situation is far "better" now than it was under Left Front and asked it not to "derail" the development process through violent means.
Echoing Chakraborty, CPI(M) Politburo member Mohammed Salim said, "Had she taken over the state before 2011, the situation would have been worse. She would have ruined the state. There has been no growth either in the industrial sector or in the agricultural sector. She has only developed the industry of bombs and goons.
