Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) state president Jaya Dutta today said the members involved in irregularities regarding admission in colleges should immediately quit the oragnisation as they are maligning it.
TMCP, which is the students wing of the ruling Trinamool Congress, is trying to identify those who are involved in the irregularities, Dutta said.
"We respect our supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and should follow her principles and ideology. But those who are involved in irregularities over admissions should immediately leave the party as they have insulted our ideology and maligned our party," she said.
Earlier, in the day Banerjee had visited Ashutosh College in the city and spoke to the students. She assured that the government will take action against those who are involved in irregularities over admissions in the colleges.
Party secretary general and the state education minister Partha Chatterjee too had visited Jaipuria college, Maharaja Manindra Chandra college and Surendranath College and spoke to the students.
