MDMK chief Vaiko today demanded that chief minister K Palaniswami resign owning moral responsibility for the violence and police firing that claimed 13 lives in Tuticorin during anti-Sterlite protests last week.
He alleged that plainclothes men had opened fire at the protesters and some policemen had set vehicles ablaze.
The chief minister should own moral responsibility for the violence and firing and step down, he told reporters at the airport here.
