Tamil Nadu scored 246 in their first innings and then bundled out Railways for a meagre 169 to take a 77-run lead.
Resuming on 10 for one in their second innings, Tamil Nadu could take the field only after lunch today because of fog and play lasted a little over an hour before bad light interrupted once again.
Only 14 overs of play was possible on the day and Tamil Nadu were 28 for two in 25 overs when the play was called off.
