The suit, filed by the City Public Prosecutor in the Principal Sessions Court, also sought action against DMK's mouthpiece "Murasoli" for reporting Karunandhi's comments.
The CPP said in the report which appeared in the August 8 edition of 'Murasoli' Karunanidhi had made some "sarcastic" and "libellous" comments about Jayalalithaa and contended they were defamatory.
