TN govt to set up law colleges in three districts

Tamil Nadu government today announced its decision to set up a law college each in the districts of Villupuram, Dharmapuri and Ramanathapuram.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami said the decision to set up the colleges was taken to enable students in and around these districts to take up law education.
Accordingly, 80 students each will be admitted for the three-year and five-year law courses from the academic year 2017-18 through the Dr Ambedkar Law University, he said in a statement here.
A total sum of Rs 6.81 crore will be incurred by the state government on various activities such as creating teaching and non-teaching posts, setting up libraries and other related facilities, he added.
