The government had approved these proposals in the last two cabinet meetings, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced in a statement in the assembly today.
According to her, the proposals cover a wide area including automotive (Hyundai expansion) telecom (Nokia) power (B G R Energy and Hitachi) and many others.
A total of 12 investment proposals amounting to Rs 20,900 crore will be signed and this will be the first time so many MoUs were being inked on a particular day, she said.
The investment would create direct and indirect employment opportunities for about 1.37 lakh persons, Jayalalithaa said.
