Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit Sunday extended 'Janmashtami' greetings to the people of the state and appealed to them to protect cows.
Speaking to reporters after taking part in 'Janmashtami' celebrations in Kancheepuram district, Purohit requested the people of Tamil Nadu to protect cows with total dedication.
Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, is the Hindu festival to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, who is believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
